The Michigan Strikers are teaming up with the people at Stay In The Shade to raise money for melanoma research. A member of our coaching staff, Karl Lopata, was diagnosed with melanoma in November 2005 and, as of May 2006, is now cancer free. The Strikers organization wanted to give back to the community and thought with athletes being out in the sun for most of their career, melanoma was a great cause to rally around. You will notice that the Strikers use an indoor training facility all year round, not only does this provide a consistent playing surface for the kids, it also keeps them out of the suns harmful rays.
How it works
The Strikers will have fundraising days where all money made will go to Stay In The Shade. We will also give a portion of camp money made to Stay In The Shade.
Parents and players can also make their own contributions by clicking the Active banner below. All donations are tax deductible.
